If a swimmer OR coach feels unwell (headache, sore throat, cough), please err on the side of caution and keep them home from practice, even if the symptoms are mild.
If anyone in the swimmer OR coach’s family has been exposed to a known positive COVID case (> 15 minutes exposure at < 6 feet indoors), keep your swimmer home from practice for 14 days from the exposure
Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to return to the pool until they have received clearance from a medical professional. A doctors note will be required upon return. The general recommendation is that activities can resume 10 days after the positive test, if all symptoms have resolved.
In the event that a coach needs to quarantine, changes to practice schedules and coaching staff will be made public.
In the case that a swimmer or a coach informs us that they have tested positive, we will inform the team as much as privacy laws permit us to do so
Swimmers and Coaches will wear masks any time they are not in the water.
Swimmers will arrive 5-10 minutes prior to their swim time to go through screening and prepare to get in the water.
Swimmers will enter and leave the pool in their swim suits and will use their own equipment.
We will use tape (X) and/or cones or rubber discs to mark (minimum 6 feet apart) the side of the pool where swimmers need to be positioned on the wall when in the water. In addition, an area on the pool deck will be marked (minimum 6 feet apart) and designated to each swimmer for her to place bags, yoga mat, equipment, water bottle, etc.
Water Spacing Plan:
For Lap Swim/Conditioning, athletes will be spaced 6 ft. apart at the wall. The swimmers on one wall will be swimming over the lines on the bottom of the pool, while the swimmers at the opposite end will swim in between the lines on the bottom (where a lane line would normally be). Only one wall of swimmers will be swimming at any given time. The others will be resting or doing exercises on deck or in the water. Swimmers will start and finish on the same wall and will NOT stop at the opposite end.
We will position swimmers such that they are 6 feet apart on the diving board wall when resting. Swimmers will be positioned by the coaches 6 or more feet apart in all directions when performing skills away from the wall. In an effort to maintain order and social distancing, swimmers furthest from the wall will be positioned first, followed by the middle section, and finally those swimmers positioned closest to the wall when the entire group is away from the wall. Otherwise, half of the group will remain at the wall resting or performing drills while the others are positioned and work away from the wall.
