Crystal Amsinger Motes – Head Coach

Crystal started synchro at age 9 and swam for Suncoast WaterWorks for 8 years. She continued her synchro career in college and swam for 4 years with University of Florida. Crystal was a founding member of Team Florida, a team that has brought athletes of all ages from all across the state together to compete in the sport, and competed with Team Florida at both US Open and US Master Nationals. 

Some of her synchro accomplishments that Crystal is most proud of are a third place finish in team at US Age group Nationals, first place in duet at South Zone Collegiate Regionals, and first place in team at US Master Nationals. 

Crystal currently works as an occupational therapist at Shands hospital.

Jenny Amsinger – Coach

Jenny swam 8 years with Suncoast Waterworks, she continued her synchro career at the University of Florida and was a founding member of Team Florida Masters team.  Her synchro accomplishments include a 2nd place finish in 16-17 team at Age group nationals and 1st place in team at US Master nationals.   

Jenny is a level 2 USAAS judge and she coached for the Gaviatas for 8 years between 2005 and 2015.

Jenny has her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida. She works as the Therapy Manager at UF Health Rehab Hospital.

Carlie Cornelius – Coach

Carlie Cornelius swam for the Gainesville Gaviatas for 8 years and was a part of the team that placed 2nd at Nationals for the 16-17 team. She was also a competitive gymnast for 3 years and joined the dive team at Buchholz High School where she learned some techniques for synchro lifts.

Carlie graduated from UF with a BS in Health Education and a minor in Health Science. She works at Levanta where she is the Director of Growth & Brand Partnerships.

Riley Leibach – Coach

Riley Leibach started synchro at 7 years old and swam for the Gainesville Gaviatas for 9 years. She returned back to GGS and is now coaching the novice and Masters team to further her involvement with artistic swimming. Her biggest accomplishment was placing 5th place in team at the Junior Olympics. 

Riley is currently attending Santa Fe and is pursuing an APK track to the University of Florida.

Gabriela Ospina – Coach

Gaby is excited to be coaching and sharing her passion for synchronized swimming with others. She swam competitively for eight years with the Coral Springs Aquacades and had the honor of being part of the USA National Team for two years. Throughout her career, she was a Junior Olympics finalist for seven years and earned top-three placements in multiple events, including figures and solo. One of her proudest achievements was being part of the team that won first place at the 2016 UANA Pan American Games in Canada.

Currently, Gaby is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology at the University of Florida, with a minor in Health Disparities. After graduation, she plans to attend medical school. Outside of the pool, she enjoys cooking, trying new foods, and spending time outdoors in nature. She is thrilled to help athletes grow both as swimmers and individuals, striving to make every practice meaningful, productive, and fun.

Katherine Elliott – Coach

Katherine’s synchro journey started with the Barracudas in Cape Town, South Africa. She competed with the Barracudas for 6 years before moving to the states and continuing with a season at SynchroBelles.

Katherine is currently a student at Santa Fe College, majoring in Exercise Science. She competes with the Gaviatas 18-19 JO team and coaches our novice group. Her most significant synchro achievement was earning a spot on the Western Cape State Team in 2022.
